The Gamma Phi Chapter of Sigma Kappa Sorority was
established at North Carolina State University on April 23, 1960. Since
January 1976, we have leased and occupied the same chapter house on
Greek Court, one of fifteen owned by the university. The first sorority
at NCSU, Sigma Kappa currently has a membership of over 100 sisters. The
Gamma Phi chapter has long been regarded as one of the most outstanding
in the country. We have received the Sigma Kappa national organization’s
highest award, the Standards of Excellence, every year it has been
presented. We have been the recipients of the Three Star designation
more than any other Sigma Kappa chapter in the country.
Academically,
Sigma Kappa is proud of its history of having one of the highest grade
point averages among all Greek organizations.
